The frame is made of plywood and softwood – materials that maintain their shape year after year. They are the invisible foundation of the sofa – what supports everything else. The seat's base springing is built with no-sag springs that distribute weight evenly across the entire width of the sofa and retain their tension. The seat cushions have a layered structure, with either wadding or down as the top layer. Wadding maintains its upright shape, while down softens and conforms to the sitter – the same structure, two different feels. The back cushions are filled with either wadding or a blend of feathers and polyester fiber: they conform to the body and return to their shape with a gentle fluffing. There are numerous upholstery options – from durable, easy-care fabrics to wool, linen, cotton, and leather. Each material brings its own nuance: the fabric's structure, the movement of light on the surface, the feel under your palm. In most models, the covers are removable. The fabric gives the sofa its final character. Every Deverk sofa is made entirely in Finland, with care and to last. Not to be replaced, but to be lived with.
